Uses: Sweet Chestnut is used for furniture, veneer, carvings, trim, exterior joinery, interior joinery and structural.

General Description: Sweet Chestnut's sapwood is narrow, distinct from the heartwood which is yellowish-brown in colour, closely resembling oak in appearance, but lacking the silver-grain figure characteristic of that timber, resulting from the finer rays. British Sweet Chestnut is a stable, straight grained and hard-wearing timber species (when the sapwood is excluded).

Please note timber can be supplied within a tolerance of +1mm to +10mm. The advertised size is the minimum size that will be supplied.
